Duality, Every story has two sides.

February, 2026

Duality features artwork that explores contrast and balance — light and dark, calm and chaos, natural and manmade, strength and fragility. Through a wide range of styles and subjects, artists examine how opposing forces shape the way we see and experience the world.

Organic Interface

20x20, Acrylic on canvas

The relationship between technology and nature in our world is a constant push and pull, where harmony and tension coexist. Technology reshapes the environment, while nature guides us toward more balanced, regenerative solutions. This duality reflects both our impact on the planet and our potential to work in partnership with it.

Me, Myself, and Art

February, 2026

The Frankfort Art Association curated a show of self-portraits and displayed it at the Frankfort Village Hall. It was fun show to be involved. Click here to see the exhibit

Acrylic on canvas, 8x10 self portrait is framed by bottle caps of beers that I have enjoyed over the years. The bottom row, are a few that are close to my heart, including Duvel, Chouffe, Boulevard and Ommegang. My friends and I have had a some great times visiting these breweries.

Backward/Sideways

September, 2025

I painted these downtown storefront scenes in Wilmington, IL; one hangs at Harbaugh’s Café in Carbondale, IL. My friend and café owner, Laura Harbaugh, told me this story. Recently, Andy Hunt (an SIU alum) and his wife, Beth stopped in while visiting their son. When they sat at the booth beneath the painting, they couldn’t believe their eyes— It was Andy’s dad’s pharmacy.

They wondered how it ended up here, four and a half hours away from Wilmington. Andy’s dad had passed away five years ago, and the family said seeing it there just warmed their hearts.  Moments like this remind me why I love painting—and why small towns like Carbondale and Wilmington feel so magical. It’s always about the people, especially those who keep small businesses alive.
